The Moore is an hotel located in NYC's Chelsea neighborhood that underwent for a major renovation to realize its true potential.

With this revamp they created a modern and comfortable space for travelers with a new concept centered around the idea of “a place to come back to”, it has that residential sensibility that makes you feel like a local… like you belong.

Tucked in the heart of Chelsea, The Moore is a place between the subtle and the bustle. With a well thought-out modern design the good hospitality and simple elegance meet.

Our objetive was to convey the necessary residential sensibility that makes you feel local: a warm feeling, with the right amount of hospitality; a sophisticated and historical touch that doesn’t show off, all together forming a simple, elegant and visually pleasing graphic system.

So we decided to convey that residential feel and sense of belonging through a masculine but warm color palette, somehow related to new york feeling. Lines and fine shapes helps a personal, refined and intellectual serif type to unfold, mixed with a modern sans; a casual and slightly-retro sophisticated photography that makes you feel intimate, and a flower pattern that transports to old paintings, keeping a bit of the history of the place.

The hotel was known as The Gem and The Moore was proposed to solidify the departure from the previous image thus helping improve any undesired perception the old hotel had, so they called it like that in honor to Clement Clarke Moore who was Chelsea´s original founder. A Moore was also a writer, the writer of The Night Before Christmas, this helped convey the hotel an intellectual feeling.

The Moore has that residential sensibility that makes you feel like a local, like you belong. It is the go-to-stay for anyone seeking to experience New York City through the lens of a local. Tucked in the heart of Chelsea, we are a place between the subtle and the bustle. It has a well thought-out modern design; where feel good hospitality and simple elegance meet.
